Pastor Mike Purdon was saved at the age of 16. Two years later, while attending a Baptist Youth Camp, he surrendered to God's call into the ministry. At this time, he began faithfully serving at Bible Baptist Church, Mt.Orab, and training under Dr. Charles Smith. In 2000, at the age of 20, he married his high school sweetheart, Kathy, and accepted a position as youth director at Bible Baptist Church, West Union. Mike served there for ten years, training under the leadership of Pastor Tim Carter and serving in various areas of the ministry.

During the summer of 2009, God began to give clear direction for the Purdons to move to Grove City, Ohio, to plant a church. In June 2010, Mike & Kathy, along with their four children, relocated to the Grove City area to start New Life Baptist Church. They are excited to be used by God in this new work.
